Do you offer therapy in person – and where is your office located?

We can do in-person sessions at my office in Buckhead, Georgia, at the following address:

2993 Piedmont Road NE Atlanta, GA 30305

However, at this time, in-person sessions are limited to ensure that we meet COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Do I have to pay to park?
The parking at my office is free.
Is your office wheelchair-accessible?
Yes, at the back of the building, there is a wheelchair-accessible entrance.
Do you offer therapy through telehealth?

I conduct telehealth sessions using a HIPAA-compliant, web-based platform (no need to download specific software). Before a scheduled telehealth appointment, I send you a link that you can use to access the telehealth platform.

I encourage you to check that you have stable Internet access and a webcam.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life can get hectic, and schedule conflicts can arise. I ask that you give me at least a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. If you do not provide a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule, a $50 “no show” fee will apply.

What is a free initial phone consultation?
I provide a 20-minute phone consultation to have a conversation before scheduling an initial intake evaluation. This can help us determine whether the services I offer would be a good fit for your needs.
What age range do you work with?
I typically work with older teenagers, young adults, and working adults.
Do you work with couples or families?
I have training in couples and family therapy, but I work primarily with individuals. I’m also trained in Family-Based Therapy (FBT), a type of therapy for eating disorder recovery for teenagers that involves parent participation in the recovery process.
What is the first session (initial intake evaluation) like?
We’ll go over paperwork together during the first session, and I can answer questions that you may have about policies and my specific approach to therapy. Then, I ask you questions so I can get to know you and your circumstances better. We also spend some time considering goals you may want to achieve in therapy.
How often should I come to therapy?

I recommend weekly sessions when you begin therapy. This frequency helps build traction and momentum for change to occur in your life.

After some time, we can discuss tapering sessions to every other week or even monthly. Some people prefer having weekly sessions indefinitely as part of their general wellness routine.

The way we approach sessions’ ongoing frequency depends on your circumstances and your therapeutic goals.

What modalities do you use in therapy?

I consider client-centered therapy to be the basis of my approach to therapy. My priority is creating an environment where you feel free to explore and increase self-awareness.

Within this approach, I use a variety of therapeutic techniques and theories, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure-response prevention (ERP), attachment theory, gestalt therapy, therapeutic art, and positive psychology.

Are you a Christian Counselor?

A Christian Counselor is a counselor who integrates the Christian faith and scripture into their approach to counseling. I consider myself a spiritual person, but I do not integrate my own spiritual or religious beliefs in my therapeutic work.

Consequently, I do not classify myself as a Christian Counselor.

Why do you wear a head wrap?
Since I was a child, I have had a condition called alopecia. There have been times in my life when I have had hair and times when I have not had hair. I wear head wraps as part of my fashionable alopecia lifestyle.
Do you have a head wrap for every outfit?
I’m working on it 🙂
